Rating: 5 [ look out frowns ]I got this toy for Chrisrmas. I love it! But it took some time to get it to work. But it was worth it, it even has an secret compartment. If you are a fan of R2D2, buy it.
Rating: 4 [ Voice Recognition IS getting better ]
Toy robotics is changing, albeit not without growing pains. As a robot collector, I have different technologies of voice recognition in toys. But, this is the first one that I have seen a definite improvement in the recognition over noise and incorrect anunciation of words. Although there are "toy like" qualities in the design, the algorithm for recognition has the highest hit rate I have seen in this price range. The wander mode is also very good for this cost / feature ratio. You would be challenged to find this level of feature set for less money. I bought two!
Rating: 5 [ A lot of fun! ]
This is a great toy. But it is a TOY, people, not a DROID! It does take some practice, but it is a lot of fun. I've even managed to get him to follow the cats. Of course, then one of them jumped on his head and bit him on his projector, but that adds to the fun.Overall, this is well worth the price. It's a beautifully detailed large-scale figure when you're not using it, and it always "wows" my friends when I show them what he can do. You won't be disappointed as long as you are not expecting something you can tell to go to the fridge and get you a cold one! Even my fiancee thinks he's really cool. Chicks dig R2!
I have one suggestion for other reviewers, when you give a negative review, and it's full of grammatical errors and misspellings, you really look silly. ;-)
